[[ Let us "seek","pursue","search" and "look hard" for Lailatul Qadr ]]

Allahumma innaka 'affuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni

(O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me)

"The Night of Power is better than a thousand months"

Better than 1000 months. Better than 30,000 days? Better than 83 years? Notice the word 'better'..It is better than 83 years, not equivalent. How much better? Now that, only Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows.

There's a difference of opinion as to when actually the Lailatul Qadr occurs. Some Islamic scholars believe that the probability of Lailatul Qadr is on the 27th of Ramadhan, although it's not for certain.

But there's no doubt that it's one of the odd numbered nights in the last 10 days of Ramadhan. As mentioned by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

"It is in Ramadhan, during the last ten days on the unevenly numbered nights, either 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or the last night of Ramadhan."

I'm of the opinion that we're not in a position to say for certain, exactly which night is the Lailatul Qadr, especially when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not say so. Hence, it's best to do Ibadah to each night of the last 10 nights of Ramadhan.

"Whoever stood in prayer on the night of Al-Qadr, in faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, he will have all of his previous sins forgiven."
