[[ Distances we will travel for the promise of love ]]

Have you ever taken advantage of the physical being of the person whom you care and cares for you? Isn't it amazing how you can literally miss that physical being more than usual when it's no longer there beside you?

From the moment we met, I began an adventure that would become the greatest learning experience of my life. We met purely by chance, although we had one time lived in the same city. I guess the decision to date long-distance wasn't really much of a decision at all - it was something we fell into and decided to make the best of. The transition from same-city to long-distance dating is a tough call. That I've to admit. Differences of time zones, dealings with misunderstandings, skyrocketing phone bills....I never liked to talk about money - although I know very well how much importance it has in a person's life. However, apart from the downsides of it all, travelling became second nature in the relationship. And how long did it take till where we are today? Let's see...it's 3 countries with the 4th one halfway around the world. Sounds crazy but it's true. But the rewards just outweigh the stresses.

Long distance relationships are difficult as you're emotionally attached to a person you can't touch or comfort, and this can hurt your heart and wreak havoc with your emotions. We figured the odds were against us, but through courage and belief, we decided to give it a go anyways. I guess the only way to make these relationships work is that you and your partner must honestly believe you'll be able to survive without each other for a considerable amount of time without the need or desire to be with someone else.

Some, or even majority might agree that it's so much easier to have same-city dating relationships. So why do we do this to ourselves? I believe because for all the negatives, there are always positive aspects to it as well. And for that, you just have to figure it out between you and your partner. After all, no amount of distance will likely keep you apart. And isn't that the sort of relationship we all deserve?

This relationship is no longer a test. It's more of like an exam. And I guess to pass this exam with flying colours, you just need to be mentally, emotionally and physically prepared. Put in all you've got and aim for the best results. My current health may be in the way, but that's just part and parcel of the journey. With a little creativity and a childlike sense of play, it somehow feels that even the impossible suddenly becomes easier to bear. It just needs to be kept real because at the end of the day, it's always nice to go to one another shouting, "who did it? WE did it!"
And lastly, as I'm typing this away before this post ends...I only have 3 words to say, that..
I'm missing you.

This is not the end.
This is not even the beginning of the end.
It is, instead, the end of the beginning..
