[[ World, prepare for 2010.. ]]

The 1980 Summer Olympic Games, 1998 World Youth Games and the 2002 International Sports Youth Games. Indeed, Moscow’s resume of hosting big sports events is an impressive one.

And who (well, at least I know I'm one) would forget the statement made by Alexander Chernov, Moscow's external affairs director, telling the world that "Singapore can host the second Youth Olympics (in 2014), we want the special honour of organising the first edition"...that "Experience is our number one strength"...that "Our city’s infrastructure for sports is solid." Nevertheless, he did mention this: "With cities like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Turin having the means and facilities, it’s an achievement for Singapore to make it to the final two."

55% expect Moscow to win. Moscow has always been deemed the favourite since November, when it headed a list of five shortlisted countries. Singapore was second.

But come on, Us versus them? I'd like to think that Singapore's the tortoise, and Moscow the hare. Raw emotion, huh? Even the most sceptical of Singaporeans will admit that it'd really be sweet to see Singapore host the first-ever Youth Olympics.

BUT now?? Who'd expect as announced "live" by the International Olympic Committee ---- Singapore will host the FIRST Summer Youth Olympic Games. Uh huh....4.5 million of us beat out 10.5 million of them!

Regardless of the windy, chilly night we were all simply HappyHappy...

And so....it's like this for Singapore:
(1) Formula One Grand Prix for this year (26-28 September, to be exact)
(2) Youth Olympic Games, in 2010.

Wow..This is, without a doubt, historic and special since we're unlikely to ever stage the full-scale Olympics (due to our obvious size restrictions). Winning this bid would at least cement Singapore's place on the World Sports map. :-)

Oh...and Mr. Chernov?
You can have the special honour of organising the 2nd edition. Yes, in 2014.

And as 2010 comes, it'll be "Добро пожаловать" to Singapore!

Lausanne, Switzerland: Dr. Jacques Rogge, President of IOC.

In Addition

Hady Mirza, Singapore's Idol, made his country proud for clinching the title as the

1st Asian Idol..

p/s if you've not heard of a Malay song, well here it is..Enjoy. :-)

"Tuhanku ku relakan segala

Takkan pernahku akui kalah

Percayaku yakin padanya

Dia yang menentukan semua

Ku Berserah..."

This is not the end.
This is not even the beginning of the end.
It is, instead, the end of the beginning..
